Shane Blevins
First Sergeant Retired Blevins was raised in Dallas, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Army in August 1995 as an OH-58 Kiowa Aircraft Repairer. Initially assigned to the 4/2 Air Cavalry Regiment at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, his first deployment was a 14-month rotation to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Following this, he volunteered for and successfully assessed into the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). Shane graduated from Green Platoon in July 1999 to begin his service to the Regiment as a Night Stalker.
1SG(R) Blevins served in a variety of positions within the 160th SOAR(A). He began as an AH-6 Little Bird Maintenance Team Member in F Company, 1st Battalion. He then served as a Crew Chief, Section Sergeant, Standardization Instructor, and Platoon Sergeant in B Company, 1st Battalion. His final assignment within the Regiment was as the 1SG for C Company.
After leaving Special Operations, he assumed the role of 1SG at the US Army Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (S.E.R.E.) School at Fort Rucker, Alabama. As the senior enlisted advisor, Shane was instrumental in the execution and accreditation of one of the DoDâs highest risk national-level Programs of Instruction which prepares service members and select personnel to fulfill their obligations under the Code of Conduct should they become isolated or held captive. The Armyâs Level-C course is the longest in DoD and employs extensive Scenario Based Training to address the full spectrum of captivity â Peacetime Governmental Detention, Hostage Detention, and Prisoner of War.
In 2014, Shane founded Omega Group Consultants, LLC (OGC, LLC). OGC, LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides training and exercise development and support to DoD, federal, state, and local agencies as well as corporate entities and private citizens.
As a 20-year Army Special Operations veteran with numerous deployments and extensive S.E.R.E. and Personnel Recovery expertise, he is a respected leader and trainer with extensive experience in planning and executing high risk, low visibility evolutions in volatile and austere areas across the globe. He is married to Jennifer Blevins of Beaumont, Texas and is the father of five.
